The cascade of Twin Falls, along with the break-of-day chirps from the nest of Blue Jays high above your campsite, greet you this morning. Gentle streaks of sunlight are beginning to poke through the pines and fall upon your cheek. Cozily snuggled in your sleeping bag, you’ve woken up to the intoxicating aroma of potatoes and onions being cooked over a campfire.
You emerge from your tent to fill your lungs with fresh mountain air. Ah, the mountains. Nature’s reminder of just how small we, and our worries, truly are. After the best arms overhead morning stretch you’ve ever felt, you saunter over to the campfire.
Waiting beside the fire, resting on top of your tree stump table, is a fresh pot of morning elixir from Black Velvet Coffee along with your favorite camping mug. You know the mug, yellow and green with a sunrise orange handle and silhouettes of mountains and pine trees.
As you pour the wonderful mountain roasted coffee, your camping companion is plating up breakfast. A delightful hash made with sweet potatoes, onions, jalapeños, crumbled breakfast sausage and eggs. The hash is smoky and earthy thanks to the paprika, cumin, and cinnamon. The herbaceous sage breakfast sausage complements the gooey over-easy eggs to round out this hearty start to the day.
All that is left is a challenging, but rewarding, hike up to the top of Mammoth Mountain via the Dragon’s Back trail.
Have a wonderful day!
